LINKED MENTORING (Programs)

Linked Mentoring

One-to-One Mentoring 

  • Minimum of one weekly virtual meeting via Zoom, FaceTime, etc. to last (at least) one full year

 

  • Designed to support youth (7-17) and young adults (17-24) as mentees, and adults (25+) as mentors

 

  • Programmatic match support through regular check-in’s with mentor coordinators, weekly resource newsletters, training (on positive youth development, mentoring strategies, anti-racism, implicit bias, trauma-informed care, etc.)

 

  • Our matches talk about queer media stereotypes, play games, go thrifting, visit virtual museums together, have movie nights, share about their struggles and successes, etc.

Community Building

  • Events for all members of GSA Link where we check in, catch up, and connect!

  • What we’ve done: drag make-up tutorials, virtual battle of the bands, game nights, movie nights, and more!

Transgender and Gender Exploring Youth

Little Links

  • Monthly support group for transgender and gender-exploring youth in kindergarten through 5th grade

  • Adult facilitated, with opportunities for youth to engage with GSA Link teen and young adult mentors

  • Come to play games and make friends in an affirming and fun environment!

Support Group

Parent & Caregiver Support 

  • Monthly support group for parents and caregivers of LGBTQ+ individuals, facilitated by a licensed mental health counselor/gender specialist

  • A space to connect, give and get support, share information, and build community

  • Online Meetings
